Join us for an evening with filmmaker and writer Charles Mudede. Mudede will present clips from his new film Thin Skin, and discuss the Northwest aesthetic of what Seattle art critic Matt Offenbacher has described as the “green gothic.”

Charles Tonderai Mudede is a Zimbabwean-born cultural critic, urbanist, filmmaker, college lecturer, and writer. He is the film editor of The Stranger and a lecturer at Cornish College, and has collaborated with director Robinson Devor on three films, two of which, Police Beat (2005) and Zoo (2007), premiered at Sundance, and one of which, Zoo, screened at Cannes. In the fall of 2018, he directed his first film, Thin Skin, from a script he wrote with Lindy West and Aham Oluo. He has also written for the New York Times, Cinema Scope, Tank Magazine, e-flux journal, LA Weekly, Nest Magazine, and C Theory.
