EMPAC—Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center

Situated on the campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) is both a performing arts center and a research and production facility committed to the integration of time-based arts, scientific research, and the development of media technology. Through year-round artist residencies and the commissioning of new multidisciplinary artworks, the EMPAC curatorial program is dedicated to building bridges between our human senses, exploring diverse modes of perception and experience, and to creating meaning in the space where our physical environment and the intangible world of digital technology overlap.
