Sonic Acts (Amsterdam) and Rupert (Vilnius) present ALTERLIFE, a fully funded two-part research and production residency taking place between September 2024 and February 2025 in Vilnius, Lithuania and Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Focused on collaborative responses to the compounding ecological crisis and guided by the methodology of critical walking practices, ALTERLIFE invites multidisciplinary proposals that use imagination to forge alliances and create alternative narratives about our political realities.
ALTERLIFE begins with a two-month research residency at Rupert, an independent centre for art, residencies, and education in Vilnius, from September to October 2024. Next is a one-month research and development residency with Sonic Acts in Amsterdam in February 2025, followed by the development and production of a new commission for exhibition at Rupert in late 2025 and Sonic Acts Biennial in early 2026.
ALTERLIFE is open to artists based in the EU. The deadline for applications is April 1 2024, 23:59 (CET). More information and the application form can be found here.
